City of Charles City Foster Grandparent Volunteer Recruiter – CCADC-0313

This is a grant funded position-continued employment is contingent on the renewal of grant funding

The Foster Grandparent Program is looking to fill the position of a part-time volunteer recruiter.  This person will be responsible for overseeing the recruitment of volunteers as well as initial screening of prospective Foster Grandparents to ensure successful and productive volunteer assignment.  A successful candidate will be willing to work with people 55 and over, publicly present in a professional manner to small and large groups, travel in a 4-county service area, and be organized, punctual and flexible. Position is based on a 20 hour work week and includes benefits such as vacation, sick time, and holiday pay.  It is also an Iowa Public Employee Retirement covered position.  Associate Degree in marketing/communications or related field and/or experience working with those over 55 is desired. Candidate must also have a valid State of Iowa driver’s license and reliable transportation.
